Testing Process
At S & T Aircraft, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional support across the aviation industry. But we also understand that sometimes, even the best support can’t solve the problem without deeper insight. That’s why we’re proud to offer comprehensive component testing services — a vital tool to help pinpoint the root cause of persistent or elusive issues that can’t be diagnosed on the aircraft.
Our testing service provides a full functional evaluation of your accessories and components, helping you move from guesswork to precision. Whether you’re troubleshooting a performance issue or trying to rule out a suspected component failure, we’re here to help you get answers quickly and reliably.
A Closer Look at Our Testing Process
While our testing procedures are similar to our repair services, they are tailored specifically for diagnostic purposes. All testing is performed in-house at our FAA-certified repair station and, once complete, your component can be shipped back to you—anywhere in the world.
Upon arrival, your part undergoes a preliminary shipping damage inspection. If we detect any issues caused during transit, we’ll notify you immediately so you can initiate a claim with the shipping provider.
Next, we assess your component based on its type:
- Hydraulic/Fluid-Operated Components are flushed to remove all fluid and contaminants, protecting our testing equipment and ensuring accurate results.
- Electrical Components undergo a detailed pre-test inspection to identify any visibly faulty or damaged elements.
- Mechanical Components are typically ready for immediate bench testing to verify operation.
If we haven’t already received information about the issue you’re experiencing, we’ll contact you before proceeding. This allows us to tailor the test to look for specific symptoms that might not surface during a standard procedure.
Once the test is complete, we thoroughly analyze the results. If a problem is found, your component is sent to our main shop floor for repair. After repair, the unit is reassembled, retested, and carefully shipped back to you, ready for service.
If no fault is found, we don’t just stop there. We take the time to connect with you, share our findings, and help troubleshoot the next likely cause — because solving your problem is our ultimate goal, even if it’s not with the part you sent us.
At S & T Aircraft, we don’t just test components — we work with you in solving problems. Whether we find the issue or help you narrow down your search, we’re committed to doing whatever it takes to keep your aircraft flying safely and efficiently.
